Borrowing rules
BorrowNow helps people arrange short borrows directly with one another. Anyone with the link can browse requests; a signed-in account and a profile are required to post or offer.
Post honest requests
Describe what you need, your pickup area, the return time, and any reward accurately. Only offer items you own or have permission to lend. No illegal items, weapons, controlled substances, scams, or stolen goods.
Agree before pickup
Check the item’s size, compatibility, condition, reward, payment preference, and return time. Use the private chat after accepting an offer to agree on a pickup plan. Inspect the item together and discuss any existing damage.
Meet thoughtfully
Prefer a public meeting place. Avoid putting your home address or other sensitive personal information in a public request. Decline a meeting if you feel unsafe.
Payments happen between you
Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Zelle, and cash are preferences, not connected accounts. BorrowNow does not collect money, hold deposits, verify payments, insure items, or guarantee repayment. A payment confirmation is a participant’s own report. A $0 request is a free borrow.
Return and confirm
The lender confirms pickup. Both people confirm the return, then may leave an honest review. Contact the other person promptly if a return will be late or an item is damaged. BorrowNow does not automatically decide disputes or charge for damage.
Respect other people
No harassment, threats, discriminatory abuse, misleading profiles, or sharing someone else’s private information. Report a request or a person from the request details. The owner can review reports and hide requests; reports do not automatically remove them. Ongoing borrowers can still access their agreement and chat after a request is hidden.
